Hello my name is Michaelene , and I have had and raised Dobermans most all my life. Since the early 1970's. My Daughter Dalene and Son in Law Jessie and Granddaughter Amy have 5 Dobermans as well from my stock. This is our gang below. All are house baby's at both place's. Indoor/Outdoor.
It is there choice as they have there own doors to the house's. In each household, We all live together under one roof.Just one happy family. They have over an acre to play in at my home and 2 acres at J & D's & 4 acres at Cheryls plus a lake. I do have 3 very Big yards that they sometimes get separated in. Especially when a female is in heat.We have underground fence system & Zones/Guardians . All our babies have been trained well. Sometimes now the collars get put on but don't even have to be turned on. There has been an addition added on that is called the dog condo. A house that is geared strictly for the kids when I am not at home.It has heat and air. Food and water inside, 3 bedrooms, and a loft in one room. 2 Dog doors so we can come and go as we please. 3rd door to be installed if and when unit is separated It has a separate yard that can be used for pups that are over 8 weeks old. So they can get out of the main house and run and play in the sun. There is a dog door so they can come into the condo as well. Currently we have 4 stud males between the family. Aramis Red/Rust, Sir Arthur Black/Rust, Loki's Dream Fawn (Isabella), & Thor's White Lightening Cream/White. Loki stays around the corner with Jessie and Dalene most of the time now. But they all visit back and forth since were just around the corner from each other. And Athena now belongs to Jessie. As he has wanted her since she was a puppy and she loves him. She was his Fathers day gift for 2009. For people that don't like to see them in crates and small pens but can't afford fencing, I like the underground fence and Zones. Once there trained to them all you need is the beep and they stay back from the borders. And when they have learned there boundaries sometimes they don't even get turned on. Just depends on how well you train your baby.
Dobermans are exceptionally smart and learn really fast. My brother taught his dobermans to stay behind a wire that was only about 10" off the ground if that. Like any dog they can be trained to do about anything if you only take the time to do it. And Dobermans are so smart it does not take long to teach them. That's one of the reasons there used in movies. Because of there train-ability.
The females for most part get along. But Sasha is Queen and rules the Roost at my house and does not hesitate to let anyone know it.
Her bite is worse than her bark. But as with all dogs of all breeds you will have the occasional fight. That is just nature. Just like humans.
And Sheba is Queen and rules at J & D's. As you travel through my site a lot of the pics have links. Just mouse over a picture to see a description or tag a link to somewhere else. Thank you for visiting my site. And we hope you enjoy it and find some useful information.
If your a doberman lover of all the colors, Red, Black, Blue, Silver Blue, Fawn, Cream/White, White Solid Black welcome. The White's are not a true Albino. That is scientific fact. If you don't like the Cream/White, White then this site is not for you. And you can keep your opinions to yourselves about them as beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. And God does not make mistakes in creating life. We love them and raise them and don't care what anyone else thinks about them. And there are thousands out there that love them. You have no right to judge them. God is the only one that has the right to judge be it animal or man.
My vision for my sight was to gather info on the Doberman Pinscher & put in one place. So you will find info from all over the Web.
Many links to other sights. Scientific studies and more.
To learn about the Founders of the breed click here. Founders of the breed. There are photo's as well as some wonderful info. The colors of dogs were mixed in the beginning as the Doberman Pinscher is a made up dog of several breeds. Quote " The dogs bred and owned by F.L. Dobermann were working dogs, useful, sharp and vicious. He was not interested in the conformation side of the dog as long the temperament answered his dream. So Dobermann did not keep any records of the crosses that he did. He just used any dog that was strong and of the desired character. He could select them from large numbers of dogs and used any he fancied for breeding. It is, perhaps, difficult to say exactly when the first of the dogs from the early crosses was called a Dobermann. Mr. Otto Göller, the owner of a liqueur factory in Apolda was born in 1852 and died in 1922. He had of course met F.L. Dobermann and his dogs and found them very attractive. He was the very great architect and sponsor of the breed and though his efforts the breed was officially recognised by the German kennel Club in 1900. On 1899 on the 27th of August O. Göller founded The Dobermann Pinscher Club Apolda. (It later became the National Dobermamnn Pinscher Club of Germany)"
To read about some of the dogs and there colors that went into making the Doberman Pinscher by Mr.F.L.Dobermann. The breeds of dogs is speculation and heresay as there was no exact record kept.
http://mijnschatjedobermans.wetpaint.com/page/White+Dobermans+the+5th+color
The beginning colors strived for were Blacks, & Browns. Blues came into play in 1906. I have not found the date on Fawn as yet. And you have to note here they were called Brown not Red as they are today. Now for those that say the whites/Creams/Blonds whatever you call them did not appear till 1976 in my research I found this. I Quote
"Graf Belling himself was, in his day, an excellent dobermann. He was short coupled with a well shaped head, but his coat was too long whit grey undercoat and his markings were too light. Graf Belling was not only a first class breeding dog but also an outstanding dog. He won 52 first prizes and became a German Siege." This dog was born 6/13/1898. Hmmmm. Makes me think.... I am sure they tried breeding it out but it was there.. To read the full story go to
http://www.dobermann-pedigrees.com/grafbellingvgronland.htmAnd then you find that many of the dogs were not registered that are showing in the lineage. Today if you did that they would say your
dog is not purebred. But then we all know the Doberman is not a purebred since it is made up from many dogs.To see what dogs and the colors used to make the Doberman
go here.
I have had all of my Whites coat color tested, as they actually look Blond.
Becky at U of C Davis called them blond. Currently some of our dogs are undergoing study's
with a Canadian Group on Coat colors.
All of my mixed color litters (Cream/White & any other color) is under study with the University of Saskatchewan.
Sasha's 2nd litter of (Cream/White, Blue & Black) Sasha's 3rd litter (Cream/White & Black), Dar-Keela's 1st litter (Black and Cream/White) Selene's 1st litter (Black & Cream/White), Willow's 2nd litter (Black,Blue & Cream/White) MIA's 1st litter (Black & Cream/White) And MIA is a NON WZ dog bred to a Cream/White Stud.
They are not Albino. For people that call us Albino's and think were defective they really need to do some in depth research and learn the differences in Albinos and us. At the moment We are classified as
tyrosinase Albinoid. But tests are ongoing looking for the gene that creates the cream color. We are not a true Albino..
If you want to know more about coat colors follow the link. Coat Colors.
This will take you to the Canadian University that is studying coat colors.
The first
"white Doberman", registered with the American Kennel Club as Padula's Queen Shebah, was born on November 10, 1976. She was sired by Rasputin VI and her dam was Dynamo Humm, both of which were black and rust. When Shebah's application for registration was sent in to the AKC, they had never before been asked to register a Doberman of this color before so they implemented an investigation. The AKC determined that this white dog, was in fact purebred, since she was produced by two purebred
Dobermans from Champion lines, so her registration was approved and accepted in 1978. In the following years, many tests were performed on both Shebah herself, and on her offspring. It was determined from this testing that the gene which produces this color is a masking gene. In other words, it "takes over" and masks the color that the dog would be otherwise. There is no evidence that this gene carries with it any deleterious or adverse health problems that are sometimes associated with albino animals such as deafness, blindness, or unstable minds.
My Daughter Dalene and her family, Jessie and Amy live right around the corner from me. They have Sheba, Freya, Athena there new baby boy Aramis (Red) and My Loki (Fawn) at there home. They have 2 acres fenced for the guys. Mine go over and visit them and they come and visit here. My daughter Cheryl has Sir Arthur (Black) Below you will see our babies.
First photo, were all getting ready for bed. Hmmm did we leave enough room for mom? Well Loki was not actually on the bed. Loki likes to lay out full stretch and he takes up a full twin mattress so he generally sleeps on the couch anymore. LOL> Kimber is just getting used to the crowd. She rotates between the bed and floor in the bathroom now. And I squeeze in where I can and they move around me. Never need a blanket with there heat. LOL . And I would not have it any other way. I love my guys. Right now I have a queen and twin side by side. And I built a bunk bed myself that is full size on top and Twin on bottom . I need a bigger bedroom to set up the other queen for more room. LOL> But were working on shifting things in the room to get more bed space.

With all due respect for the Doberman Pinscher Club of America (DPCA) I am well aware of their position regarding "white"/"albino" 'z' factored Dobermans, and As responsible breeder and 'dog-lover' I have decided to own and breed the white. Tho I myself am breeding for the Cream color. The Cream Dobermans do have pigment in there coat. Myself and fellow breeders have found them to be the 5th color of Doberman not 'albino' every bit the loving"Doberman" as the other colors (black, red, fawn &blue). We have not encountered the issues presented by the Club members.I believe the buyer should decide for their self. As does the DPCA have a right to their opinions, to a potential buyer with questions regarding white dobermans, or Cream Dobermans please review the opinions of the DPCA or feel free to ask me or any of the Quality Cream/ White Breeders about there experiences with the Cream/White Dobermans.
There is a Club for the White Dobermans, it is called the Doberman Pinscher Alliance of America or DPAA
the DPAA is for all 5 colors not just white and you don't have to own a white to belong. You hear people say that Whites can not be registered and they cannot show. Well they are wrong. They can be registered and they can show in many area's, And there are Champion Whites as well as Champion WZ registered dogs. DPAA Titles Her you will see some beautiful White Dobermans doing what they do best. Just like any other color Doberman. And if you would like to read some Testamonials from owners
of white dobermans go here. http://www.dpaa.org/testimonials.html
